Miranda Lambert is our queen. Strong, sassy, sweet and somethin’ else–she’s a one of a kind woman, and she should be everybody’s role model. She’s certainly a role model for our CG Girls.

Annie

Miranda is an Annie. I mean, literally, she’s a Pistol Annie. Annie is soft and feminine, but confident as all hell.

When Miranda pulls out her pink guitar and sparkly boots, paired with a cute dress, she’s definitely an Annie.

Miranda proves you can be strong AND soft, fierce and feminine. That makes her Annie’s idol.

Charley

Miranda is a Charley. Charley is classic country: hardworking and tough as nails. That’s our Miranda, too.

Charley wears boots and jeans, not for style but for the mud she works in.

Miranda is the hero of her own story, and doesn’t need to be saved. Charley is just the same!

Etta

Miranda is an Etta. She loves nature, and sees beauty in all things.

If you know anything about her relationship with Blake Shelton, you know Miranda has a flair for the romantic, and Etta is just the same.

Don’t let her delicate beauty fool you: Miranda–and Etta–are independent Country Girls.

Jane

Miranda is a Jane. She’s got a wild streak in her. Like a set-your-shit-on-fire, laugh-as-it-burns wild streak.

Jane lives for the moment, and is all about being young and having fun.

The last thing Jane needs is someone to slow her down. She’ll never settle, just like Miranda.

Country Girls of all kinds love Fall. Whether it’s back to school, hunting season, or perfect temperatures for enjoying the outdoors, there’s something for everyone to fall for! Our CG Girls are no exception. See why Annie, Charley, Etta, and Jane love Autumn, and see what they’re wearing this season!

Annie

Annie is our girly-girl, but she’s sharp as a tack. Annie loves back-to-school shopping, and organizing both her locker and her closet.

Annie’s pick:

Rhinestones, angel wings, pink, and paisley – Annie is all over it. Annie pairs her pick with a cute denim mini, and boots, of course.

Charley

Charley is our hardworking tomboy, and a sharpshooting hunter in the Fall. She keeps her style simple and practical, but effortlessly cool.

Charley’s pick:

Charley is rarely found not wearing jeans and boots. She’s all about Fall staples, and this outfit is no exception.

Etta

Etta is our boho Country Girl. She’s in tune with nature, so she loves all the changing colors of Fall. Etta can be found horseback riding through fields or collecting leaves.

Etta’s pick:

Sunflower and script over a rich purple and a cool style, this hooded 3/4 sleeve is perfect for Etta. Etta pairs this top with a flowy maxi skirt and her trademark long, wavy hair.

Jane

Jane loves Autumn air. With Halloween, and campfires for scary stories and Truth or Dare, Fall is perfect for this wild child.

Jane’s pick:

Jane adores the comfy fit and sporty style of this fleece sweatshirt. She would pair it with her favorite destroyed denim and cowboy boots.

1. Set The Tone

Your first day outfit is a sample of who you will be for the whole year. If you’re going into a new school, or know you’ll be meeting a lot of new people for the first time, think about what your clothes are saying about you. While your personality is what really matters, clothes are the quickest and most obvious way to show that to your potential new BFFs.

The first day of school is a chance to create yourself. This year, will you be studious or fun-loving? Filled with school spirit, or march to the beat of your own drummer? Or, some combination of everything?

2. Be Comfortable

Day One is stressful – finding the right room, making sure you have the right books, remembering your locker combination, finding people to sit with at lunch. With all that, the last thing you need is to be worried about your clothes. Nobody wants to be fussing with straps or hems while speed-walking to make it before the bell.

Go with an outfit that fits well, stays put, and requires minimal maintenance throughout the day. If you’re a pro at walking in heels and that’s what you want to wear, go for it. But if you’re like a newborn deer and you’re just trying to impress somebody, maybe save it for week 2.

3. Show Off

Did you work out over the summer? Get a tan? New haircut? Flaunt it. Your friends will want to know what you did all summer, and that is a great jumping off point for that conversation. If you cut off six inches and went blonde, but hide it in a hat, you’ll get “wait, did you change your hair?” instead of “OMG I love your hair!” and let’s be real, that second one is a lot more fun.

What’s your perfect back to school look? Got any tips we missed? Let us know in the comments!

It’s getting to be that time of the summer where you start looking forward to fall. Bonfires, football season, all the cutest clothes, and back to school. If you’re moving into a new dorm room soon, here are some ideas for how you can make your place feel more rustic, fun, country, and like home. Of course, you could adapt these tips to any room!

1. Pallet Shoe Shelf

An old pallet is perfect for storage. It sits flat against the wall to save space, and shoes fit perfectly between the slats. Use the sides for bags, hats, scarves, or whatever else you may need to hang.

2. Clothesline Picture Hanging

Channel the sweet, simple life of hanging the laundry out to dry on a breezy summer day. Tie a string between two push pins, and use clothes pins to hang all your favorite pictures. You could also hang your ticket stubs, birthday cards, or anything else that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

3. Burlap Covered Head Board

A headboard just makes a bed look more put-together. That’s just fact. But it doesn’t have to be fancy, expensive, or even difficult. Check out this tutorial for how to make a covered headboard out of fabric and cardboard – no heavy tools required!

4.  Wood Crate Shelf

Wood crates make great shelves. Stack them however you like for cute, convenient cubbies. You could use them for shoes, books, or anything else you want to show off while you store it.

5. Loft Hammock

If you have the option, loft your bed. This gives you more space for your desk, shelves, an extra chair, or yes, even a hammock. Be VERY careful, and check with your RA first, but a hammock can be a great way to bring the country into your dorm room.

Etta is a flower child. She prefers to be barefoot and in the grass. She loves nature, animals, and feeling free. Etta may seem delicate and flighty, but she has a powerful creative mind and strong spirit. She is confident in herself and loves life.

Charley is fearless, confident, and dignified. Even when she’s quiet, she’s got a million thoughts in her head, and when she speaks she’s wicked smart. You don’t have to worry if she’s better than you – she is.

She’s a good girl, loves her mama, loves Jesus and America too.
