To me, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift kind of go together. They’re like Country music’s Golden (haired) trio. [Okay, so T-Swift isn’t so much *Country* anymore, but roll with me]. I’ve thought this ever since I saw this picture:

So now, when I see one of them in the news, I ask myself “what are those other two up to?” Here’s the haps with these blonde bombshells.

Taylor Swift

If you haven’t seen her video for “Shake It Off,” it’s worth a watch. It’s not Country at all (no surprise there), but it seems like everyone has an opinion on it.

The undeniably catchy single is from her new album “1989”

Between creating those and taking enough Polaroids to put in each physical album she sells, she’s been one busy chick.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie has been busy #trending lately. From her #IceBucketChallenge with hubby Mike Fisher (who, by the way, looks great in an icy white tee shirt)…

… to taking a can of Coca Cola and #CrushinIt on her head on Brad Paisley’s instagram

Carrie’s been all over the inter-webs lately, and we’re loving it.

Miranda Lambert

Meanwhile, Miranda has been changing up her look. Maybe you remember when she cut her hair short in early July:

And now, she’s gone even shorter!

Miranda’s rocking that blond bob. You go, girl.

Have you heard Alyssa Trahan yet? She’s only 19, and she’s already making it on the country music scene. We love this Country Girl, and here’s why you should, too:

1. She’s beautiful.

Look at that face. That hair. She’s perf.

2. She’s wicked smart.

And not to mention talented. This girl plays over 13 instruments and has written over 50 songs. She also knows her way around music production. Read more about all this in her bio.

3. She can sing.

If you haven’t already seen “Cowboy” you need to watch it now.

4. She’s sweet.

Look at that. She personally responds to her comments on YouTube. And they all get a 🙂

It’s August, and it seems like everyone is already looking forward to fall. Don’t get me wrong, fall is great, but if you’re like me, you aren’t ready to let go of summer yet. So while everyone else is telling you to bust out the hoodies and pumpkin spice lattes, here’s [NUMBER] things you absolutely MUST check off that summer bucket list before it’s too late!

1. Swim in something that isn’t a pool.

It may not be reasonable for some of us to get all the way to a beach to swim in the ocean, but everyone is bound to be at least within a few hours of a lake, pond, creek, quarry, or some natural body of water. Throw caution to the wind and dive right in! (Well, okay, first check how deep it is, then dive at your own risk). With sweltering August temps, late summer is the perfect time to finally check this off your list.

Or, you could try a make-shift pool!

Okay, so you won’t really be able to swim, but this still seems way fun! All you need is a truck, a tarp, and a hose. Then you can add chairs and umbrellas and beverages at your discretion.

2. Stargaze from the bed of a truck.

While we’re on the subject, if you haven’t done this yet this summer, do it. Get as far away from civilization as you can. Bring blankets, pillows, and a special someone. Roll the windows down and blast country music on the way there, but then take a moment to take in the vastness of the stars in silence. Have a deep conversation about your futures, fears, favorite memories – anything. There’s just something about being outside at night in the summer, and if you haven’t had that yet this summer, you need to!

3. Go to a country music festival.

Sure, Stagecoach and Country Jam already happened, but festival season is far from over! There’s still time to experience this crucial summer event.

Lockn Festival in Virginia is September 4-7, and features Willie Nelson, The Allman Brothers, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, among others. Tickets are still available on their site, and start at $109.

Ramble Jam in Minnesota is September 12-13, with headliners Chase Rice on Friday and Josh Thompson on Saturday. You can still get advance tickets for $49 through August 13th on their site!

Americana Music Festival in Nashville, TN is September 17-21, featuring Greensky Bluegrass, The Avett Brothers, and many others. Tickets are pretty steep starting at $365, but hey, it’s Nashville.

4. Go on a road trip.

A road trip doesn’t have to be a huge, week-long, cross-country adventure. You can get the same thrill and fun in an overnight trip. Here’s how:

  1. Choose your destination. Find a city or spot about a 4-6 hour drive from your starting point. Look for concerts or shows in the area, or just choose a place with great nightlife.
  2. Book a motel. You’ll only need it for the night, so go as cheap as you can. Cram all your friends into one room. Heck, you could even sleep in your car. Remember, it’s not about comfort, it’s about the story.
  3. Pack. Put a toothbrush and a change of clothes in a backpack. Bring snacks, a cooler full of drinks, and some music.
  4. Be spontaneous. Leave in the morning so you have all day to get there. Then, if you see something you like, go for it. Photo ops, scenic routes, and anything with “World’s Largest” make for great memories. Use your phones as cameras, but nothing else. Facebook can wait, you’re on a road trip, dang it!
  5. Share. Split the cost of gas, the motel, snacks, and tickets, and take turns driving. It turns out a one-day road trip can actually be pretty feasible, and super fun.

5. Spend a day doing nothing.

For just one day, live like a cat. Move only from nap to nap, just following a sun beam. Have food brought to you, if you can. You may start to feel that nagging feeling of needing to do something, but you can push through it. Whatever you do, do it aimlessly: listen to music, browse Pinterest, read a magazine. Whatever else you need to do can wait a day. Your body will thank you for the relaxation.

Have you done any of these? Is there anything else everyone should do this summer? Let us know in the comments!

Annie is our sweetheart. She’s the girl next door, a daddy’s girl, the kind of girl they write country songs about. In the words of Tom Petty…

She’s a good girl, loves her mama, loves Jesus and America too.

Annie is a girly girl and loves it. Her favorite colors are pink and glitter. But Annie has a sassy side! Fierce and loyal, Annie won’t take any crap, especially when it comes to her family, friends, and Country music.

Favorite Country Girl shirt:

Favorite artist: Carrie Underwood

Country Crush: Luke Bryan

Favorite outfit:

Annie is named for sharpshooting legend Annie Oakley, who always dressed like a lady and shot like a badass.

Dierks Bentley is adorable. Sometimes he hangs out with other adorable things. Things like…

His dog, Jake.

Nice try, Jake.

Miranda Lambert.

She’s really more beautiful than cute, anyway.

His son, Knox.

Look at those huge earmuffs! Dierks looks so cute in them!

His daughters, Evie and Jordan.

Cutest 5K ever. Mostly because of Dierks Bentley.

Terri Clark AND a puppy.

The double team isn’t very fair, but Bentley is still the winner.

Luke Bryan.

Well, Dierks, you can’t win every time.

Blake + Luke = Bluke. Everyone knows Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan are best buds. Best of BFFLs, Besties for the resties, Bros 4 Lyf, etc. But sometimes this epic bromance is almost too real.

When Luke made cardboard cutouts of him and buddy Blake.

When Blake kissed Luke.

When they took this selfie together before the ACM Awards.

When Blake’s breath just smelled really good.

When Luke kissed Blake

This touching moment.

When Blake totally asked who was going to be his best bro forever and Luke just popped up behind him with this sign.

(Okay, fine, he asked who was going to co-host the ACM Awards with him.)

When Luke interrupted the Awards to remind everyone how much he loves Blake.

And the rest of forever. Those lucky ducks.

All it takes is a quick Google image search, or any knowledge of Jason Aldean, to know that he is always wearing his trademark cowboy hat:

You’d be hard-pressed to find a picture of him without it. And with good reason.

Yikes. But that was years ago. Why does he wear the hat now? What happened between then and now? What is Jason Aldean hiding under his cowboy hat? Here are a few guesses…

Gray hair?

No hair?

A tiny version of his trademark hat?

A tiny version of his own head?

A teacup piglet?!??

We can only hope it’s that teacup piglet. Whatever may be under there, maybe it’s best kept secret. After all, he really rocks that hat.

Thanks for reading!

Luke Bryan is single-handedly revolutionizing the Power Point. Okay, sometimes he uses both hands. But what is it he’s always pointing at?

Someone over here.

Someone over there.

The world’s luckiest fan.

TWO things!

His main man J.C.

That’s cute, Taylor, but let’s leave the pointing to the professionals.

The sexiest man in country music.

I don’t know what he’s pointing at in this picture but that’s not really my biggest concern.

RIGHT AT YOU! Too bad he’s too distracted by Blake Shelton’s beautiful eyes.
