Imagine that. One Direction puts out their first Country Music album… Hey, it’s quite possible! Remember when Cher went Country? Some of you readers might not have been born yet.

And who could possibly pave the way for a One Direction Country Crossover? Carrie Underwood that is.

Carrie said in an interview with the Daily Mail: “If One Direction ever wants to go country, I’m here.” She added, “You never know, it could happen! I think I should get on the phone to Simon.”

We’re a little skeptical, but if Carrie thinks it’s possible, we’ll stand by her side. What do y’all think? Should One Direction boot on some boots and hit the rodeo?

Carrie Underwood was a guest on the Jimmy Fallon Show this week, promoting her new album Greatest Hits: Decade #1. She revealed why she gives her baby private concerts when she’s out driving around town and how her husband doesn’t know the lyrics to any of her songs, or songs in general.

“If I’m just in my car driving, I feel like I have to make [my singing] good because [the baby] is listening,” Carrie told Fallon. When asked if her husband could sing, she didn’t hold back from being honest.

“It’s always surprising he doesn’t actually know the real lyrics to any song,” said Carrie as the audience broke into laughter. “Yet I asked him what my current single is, and he sings all the wrong words.”

But Carrie revealed that her husband actually knows the lyrics to one song. Ladies and Gentleman, that song is “Whoomp! (There It Is).”

So will we be singing a possible future performance of this masterpiece from Mr. Underwood? Jimmy Fallon is certainly up for inviting on the show for a magical lipsynch.

8. Carrie Underwood Shows Her Baby Bump

Our Country American Idol winner Carrie has been sporting a baby bump this year. Watching her grow along the way is kind of like watching your sister go through a pregnancy.

7. Country Music Said Goodbye To Taylor Swift

It wasn’t easy letting go. We grew up singing and listing to her music while getting ready for prom, camping with the girls, and getting our hearts broken. It’s as if every song she wrote was a reflection of our current situation. No, we didn’t date Taylor Lautner, but let’s be real. When you’re 15 and someone tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them.

Billy Gilman and Ty Herndon came out, on the same day. It was a first in Country Music, and the two received nothing but support from fellow artists, fans, and friends.

4. Lady Antebellum Pay Tribute To Luke Bryan

After suffering another devastating loss, Luke Bryan canceled his appearance on CMT Artists of The Year to be at his brother in law’s funeral.

Lady Antebellum took the stage at the awards show and sang their rendition of Luke’s “Drink A Beer,” in memory of his brother in law.

3. Country Music Ice Bucket Challenges

As a means to raise awareness for ALS, Country Artists from far and wide dumped cold buckets of ice water on their heads and took to social media to promote the cause.

2. Girl In A Country Song

Maddie & Tae couldn’t have said it better with “Girl In A Country Song.” The song discussed the roles of women in Country Music, then turned the tables on men in their hilarious music video.

Conway and George Strait never did it this way.

1. Vince Gill Wins Irving Waugh Award of Excellence

The only other country music artist to receive this award was Johnny Cash. Vince Gill is Country Music’s best friend. Carrie Underwood has been quite busy with a new album dropping December 9, and performances left and right. Just this week she took the stage at the World AIDS Concert and CMAs Country Christmas. So what’s next on the horizon for this songbird?

Carrie announced this week that she will be launching a new fitness lifestyle clothing line called CALIA by Carrie.
“I felt in my own closet and in stores that I would go in,  a big gap in things that were out there for women,” said Underwood.

Her line will debut at Dick’s Sporting Goods in March 2015.

Although Carrie Underwood is projected to have the biggest country music album next month on December 9, she wont be the only one releasing new music.

Tracy Lawrence’s ‘‘Greatest Hits: Evolution’ and Willie Nelson’s ‘December Day: Willie’s Stash, Vol. 1′ will go head to head on December 2. Nelson will be collaborating  with sister Bobbie.

We all know Carrie will take the cake when it comes to sales. But will Willie, or Tracy come on top (beneath Carrie that is)? Who will have a bigger release? In any regard, we’re happy that the older guys can still hang. This just goes to show you that Country Music will always stay Country.
