It’s time for a look back at the Country Music Charts this Throwback Thursday.

September 25, 1994

On this day back in 1994 a man by the name of Joe Diffie was blowing up the Country Music Charts with the #1 hit single “Third Rock From The Sun.” To all the youngsters reading, watch the video with an open mind will you? 🙂

Joe Diffie – Third Rock From The Sun

I’m sure we can all agree that no one had it easy back then with the mullet. Let’s flash forward ten years shall we?

September 25, 2004

Keith Urban scored his 5th number one single with “Days Go By” back in 2004, and days do in fact go by when you realize that this song is over 10 years old!

Keith Urban – Days Go By

This was a look back at the top hits from the past two decades on this Throwback Thursday.

Sometimes when the world gets a little funny, Pop Music goes Country. Here are our top favorite Country covers of famous pop songs.

1. Just The Way You Are – Dustin Lynch

2. Luke Bryan – Apologize

3. Someone Like You – David Nail

4. Landslide – Dixie Chicks

5. I Could Not Ask For More – Sara Evans

6. Irreplaceable – Sugarland

7. Wake Me Up – Tebey Featuring Emerson Drive

8. Dance Again – by Elisa Anna featuring Lucas de Mattos

Yup. We will have these songs on repeat all day! Got any other suggestions? Leave in the comments below.

Miranda Lambert is our queen. Strong, sassy, sweet and somethin’ else–she’s a one of a kind woman, and she should be everybody’s role model. She’s certainly a role model for our CG Girls.

Annie

Miranda is an Annie. I mean, literally, she’s a Pistol Annie. Annie is soft and feminine, but confident as all hell.

When Miranda pulls out her pink guitar and sparkly boots, paired with a cute dress, she’s definitely an Annie.

Miranda proves you can be strong AND soft, fierce and feminine. That makes her Annie’s idol.

Charley

Miranda is a Charley. Charley is classic country: hardworking and tough as nails. That’s our Miranda, too.

Charley wears boots and jeans, not for style but for the mud she works in.

Miranda is the hero of her own story, and doesn’t need to be saved. Charley is just the same!

Etta

Miranda is an Etta. She loves nature, and sees beauty in all things.

If you know anything about her relationship with Blake Shelton, you know Miranda has a flair for the romantic, and Etta is just the same.

Don’t let her delicate beauty fool you: Miranda–and Etta–are independent Country Girls.

Jane

Miranda is a Jane. She’s got a wild streak in her. Like a set-your-shit-on-fire, laugh-as-it-burns wild streak.

Jane lives for the moment, and is all about being young and having fun.

The last thing Jane needs is someone to slow her down. She’ll never settle, just like Miranda.

What’s your favorite side of Miranda? Which CG Girl are you? Tell us in the comments!

Have you heard Alyssa Trahan yet? She’s only 19, and she’s already making it on the country music scene. We love this Country Girl, and here’s why you should, too:

1. She’s beautiful.

Look at that face. That hair. She’s perf.

2. She’s wicked smart.

And not to mention talented. This girl plays over 13 instruments and has written over 50 songs. She also knows her way around music production. Read more about all this in her bio.

3. She can sing.

If you haven’t already seen “Cowboy” you need to watch it now.

4. She’s sweet.

Look at that. She personally responds to her comments on YouTube. And they all get a 🙂

Not convinced yet? Check out her website where you can find links to her Facebook, Twitter, and way more!

Today is Luke Bryan’s birthday! You might be thinking “what more could a guy as perfect as Luke possibly need?” Well, other than country girls to shake it for him, here is what Luke Bryan would like for his birthday:

1. This pig

Clearly he was trying to steal it and did not succeed.

2. Toothpaste

With pearly whites like those, he’s got to be running out constantly. I’m sure he would appreciate it.

3. Binoculars

4. A shotgun

5. Somebody to throw this frisbee to

I volunteer as tribute.

6. Tighter shirts

If I can’t see every nook and cranny of that torso, it’s not tight enough.

7. For Blake Shelton to stop kissing him

Hey, Luke, if you don’t want it, I’ll take it.

What are you getting Luke for his B-Day?
